The caisson ceiling, an ancient architectural dome shaped like a canopy, symbolizes protection and blessing.

At its heart unfolds the famous "Three Hares Sharing Ears" motif. Three hares chase one another in an eternal loop, sharing three ears in total—forming a visual and philosophical circle that embodies the Eastern wisdom of reincarnation, the flow of time, and the continuity of cause and effect. It is also a classic symbol of cross-cultural exchange along the Silk Road. Surrounding it is the eight-petaled lotus, originating from India, representing awakening and auspiciousness. Linked roundels, introduced via the Silk Road, string together radiant light, while the Central Asian honeysuckle pattern evolves into the Tang Dynasty scroll motif, symbolizing resilience, growth, and the unending cycle of life. The outermost border is framed with an exquisite drape pattern, reflecting the grandeur, inclusiveness, and majestic spirit of the High Tang era.
